Grand Opening in Bellevue a Success!!
It has been such a priviledge to teach in my little hometown of Bellevue, TN! Who knew I would have an opportunity to meet such wonderful new moms just down the street from where I go and visit my mother each and every week. It is truly a full circle thing for me as a mom! I can remember going four wheeling down that very same road!! Yes ladies, I four-wheeled. We have had a wonderful start in our Bellevue location and are looking forward to meeting even more new moms as the months roll by! And a BIG THANK YOU to Destiny at Dance in Bloom (www.danceinbloom.com) for opening her beautiful dance studio to us!
Grand Opening in Mt. Juliet and Hendersonville
We are so excited to announce our new teacher, Jessica Newport, who will be opening classes in Mt. Juliet and Hendersonville starting in January! Jessica is a songwriter, performer, and piano and guitar instructor. After graduating from Wright State University in Dayton, OH with a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition, she married and moved to Nashville to pursue a songwriting career. From 1997 – 2001, she wrote songs for the folk/rock band Eldila, recorded and released 2 CDs, and performed at various local venues. In July of 2000, her song “The Wind” made its international debut when it was performed during the Festival of St. James at The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. In 2003, she released “On the And of Four,” a solo CD.
Jessica lives in Goodlettsville with her husband and two children where she continues to write music. With over 7 years experience teaching private lessons and group keyboard classes, she is currently enrolling new students for her piano and guitar studio, as well as her Music with Mommie classes.
“I am so excited to be a part of Music With Mommie. I’ve never seen such a hip introduction to music and movement for young children. Not only do your kids get to learn the fundamentals of rhythm, melody, and musical terminology, they also get to interact with kids their own age. Moms, you’ll get a chance to be young again too!“ --Jessica Newport
Tie Dye in Pulaski!
Music with Mommie's first Tie dye play date in Pulaski was a hit! The kiddos had a great time tie dying their t-shirts! Moms helped, but the kids enjoyed picking their own colors and being creative! Each of them went home with their own one of a kind tie dye creation! Most of the moms had never tie dyed, so this was a learning experience that was lots of fun! We even had Tie dyed cupcakes afterwards! Our next play date is scheduled in October at the Pumpkin Patch at Limoland. This will be a perfect opportunity for the kids to explore the farm and enjoy the fall weather!
Classes in Columbia are growing fast! It has been such a great experience, getting to know all of the moms and their children! We will be having our first play date in October at the pumpkin patch at Ring Farm. I look forward to this, and I know this will be the first of many great play dates!

Little Bit of Laughter by Stacy Jagger
OK so we bought a 1940's farmhouse on 5 acres 8 minutes from the new Super Target. Sounds fabulous doesn't it? Did I mention it has one bathroom and that bathroom is currently being renovated? Gutted? As in I'm homeless? Just kidding. Well sort of. Mom lives in Bellevue. Kind of makes a marriage see what it's really made of in times like these. You know, times where you're thinking, "Why did I sell my house for a fixer upper while I'm five months pregnant?" "What, exactly, was I thinking?" Nevertheless, there is no turning back now. No turning back to my front porch in the 'burbs that never got rained on when it was raining cats and dogs while I got to watch the beauty right in front of the K-mart swing of my oh-so-down-earth-neighbors. No turning back to the garden tub I spent hours and hours and hours on end looking at the beautiful old world faux painting of a
dear friend of mine and the walk in closet that meant even if my house is a wreck, I get to stick it all in this closet. Oh no. I couldn't stay in a satisfied, the-mortgage-is-no-problem-place. I was ready to set out for new pastures. New lands. Thousands of dollars of upgrades, renovations and how-the-heck-are-we-gonna'-heat-this-place glory while we chase our eyes down to the big, empty barn that simply holds our dreams of a one day chicken coop. After all, this was all for a chicken you know? A chicken and so that my husband can get out of his truck and pee on a tree, the ultimate form of freedom, and the storm shelter just in case the world blows up and we need to hide out for ten minutes. Now I know, I know, I'm pregnant and a bit hormonal, a bit dramatic, a bit of a lot of things. But you see I'm choosing today to stay in a positive frame of mind and trust that all is well, even
when it doesn't look like it, or feel like it. That is the beauty of staying in today. As long as I don't look way down the road, as long as I just focus on the tasks before me in this 24 hours, I can find my peace once again, and trust that God is still much bigger than me and has the whole world in his hands.Speaking of the whole world in his hands. Did you know he has the little bitty baby, the sun and the rain, the moon and the stars, the wind and the clouds, the rivers and the mountains, the oceans and the seas, my brothers and my sisters (that's you), everybody here and everybody there in his hands? Yep, that's what I hear. Even this election, even the freakin' economy, even my crazy decisions, right in his hands. Comforting to know huh? That's why we can hula hoop, sing with gusto, love our kids, not freak out, be nice to our husbands and clean our houses with a smile on our face
and joy in our hearts, and go find the nearest Music with Mommie class with our kiddos because hey, it's a total blast and it's way cheaper than therapy. Trust me I know. Forty five minutes of stress reducing, t-cell increasing, oxygen inducing, mood elevating fun will do you some good, promise. So! See you in class. And don't ask why my car looks like somebody is living in it. I might move in. Just kidding.
Quote of the Month
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint on the clouds of doubt,
And you can never tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar.
So, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things go wrong that you mustn't quit.
