"As a child, one of my fondest memories is being rocked by my mom and mam-maw as they sang to me. And now, as a mother, one of my greatest joys is singing to and with my children. I am so excited about sharing the joys of music through Music with Mommie in the Bellevue, Goodlettesville, and Hendersonville areas. I hope to see you there soon!" Elizabeth Ellis
In The Spotlight
Amy Phipps is the new play group coordinator for Spring Hill. She has jumped in with both feet and planned some wonderful activities! Thank you, Amy!
"The very first time we went to music class the tamborine was the instrument solo with Stacy singing "papa ooh mow mow". Haddon came straight home and wanted to find his tamborine that to this day he calls his "ooh mow mow"!! We were hooked from that first class, and we love making memories and bonding together through music!!" Amy Phipps

All Day Long
The Art of Bonding and Attachment
By Elizabeth Ellis
Forward by Stacy Jagger
Well ladies, I officially have a two year old. My “perfect” child has turned into a little person of her own, with her own opinions, wants, needs…and I am learning to let go of the “picture perfect” thoughts in my mind of how fabulous our relationship would always be, day in and day out…and let her feel her feelings, have her moments…Lord knows I have those myself. Here is a little vignette from our new director-teacher Elizabeth Ellis, who will be opening classes in Hendersonville and Bellevue soon. May you be encouraged to bond with your little ones, through the ones, the two’s (whoo the two’s), the three’s, the fours… you get it.
Robert Munsch wrote in his children’s book I’ll Love You Forever “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.” Little did he know that he would be reaching out to mommies and daddies as much as the children they read it to, teaching them the art of loving unconditionally. I remember one of the many times I sat, rocking my son, reading this special book and before I knew it, he was finishing the lines for me because I had tears running down my face. Not long ago as I was rocking him, he said, “Mom, before long I will have to rock YOU. And you know what? ‘I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my mommy you’ll be.’”
Whether your children are born into your family or adopted into it, bonding and attachment are crucial to healthy growth and development. Proper bonding and attachment give them the ability to connect with others in a genuine and real way, not only as children, but as they grow through puberty, and as they become strong, centered, healthy adults.
Most women have an innate sense of nurturing. This translates into rocking our babies, speaking softly to them, singing lullabies, high-pitched coos and all of the other wonderful ways we love on our little people. This bond, if cared for over the years, will truly last a lifetime. We take the feeling of genuine love in our hearts and make it tangible through simple actions of everyday interactions. Singing, holding, dancing in the kitchen…
As our children grow, these tangible expressions of love change a bit. We move on from rocking them and singing to them, to sitting in the audience of their school talent shows and clapping for their class performances and long, drawn out recitals. We become the cheerleading squad at the little league games. The counselor after a bad date.
But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how old they get. These words will always ring true…no matter what they do, where they go, what color their hair ends up being…
“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.”
